Omi Zola Gupta is a filmmaker, born in London and raised in New Delhi, whose work explores a humanist cinema in which multiple belongings are offered a chance to exist and contend. His films have premiered at festivals including Sundance, SXSW, and Palm Springs ShortsFest, and have been curated by MUBI, Vimeo Staff Picks, and Short of the Week. His work has also toured institutions such as the Smithsonian, Victoria & Albert Museum, British Film Institute, and Forum des Images, and has been shortlisted for the Grierson, IDA, and BIFA awards.
Omi is a 2023 Sundance Institute x Adobe Ignite Fellow and is currently pursuing an MFA at NYU’s Graduate Film programme as a BAFTA Pigott and Ang Lee Scholar.
